Clinical Focus

Mental Emotional Health

With several years of experience focusing in mental health and wellness, and additional training in mindfulness based clinical skills, Sylvi strives to help individuals become more mindful of how their thoughts and emotions impact overall mental health in order to reduce the impact of stress.

Clinical nutrition is also integrated into treatment in order to provide the brain with what it needs to function optimally.

Mindful Eating and Clinical Nutrition

Balanced nutrition is not about eating the latest superfood or following a fad diet. It’s not about overhauling your current plan to follow a crash diet that you won’t stick to long-term. It’s not about giving up your favourite foods or treats either. It’s about eating real food. It’s about finding the balance that’s right for you, without adding any guilt or suffering to your life. A healthy nutrition plan needs to be sustainable for the long-term.

Dr. Martin has undergone focused clinical training in Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT), which can be very helpful in managing emotional eating and overeating.

Dr. Martin will help you to choose sustainable lifestyle changes that you’ll be comfortable with, to help you reach your health goals. If it’s helpful to you, your treatment plans can incorporate the use of customized recipe books, meal plans and grocery lists.
